ORE A. FAMILY EMPOWERMENT FUND
The DGD Initiative, under the management of NEOTERIC Group, recognizes the challenges faced by girls in Nigeria and globally. To support their development, the initiative has awarded a scholarship to Miss Gift Iyakwari, an outstanding student at Babcecil School, covering her tertiary education.
At NEOTERIC Group, we believe educated women are healthier, engage more in the formal labor market, earn higher incomes, have fewer children, marry later, and provide better healthcare and education for their children. Supporting girls’ education also reduces risks like infant and maternal mortality, child marriage, malnutrition, and domestic and sexual violence. To this end, Miss Iyakwari received an award of recognition and a N250,000 cheque to further her studies.
“I’m so grateful for your support through school. Without the company, I might not even be writing the upcoming WAEC exams. Thank you and God bless you,” Miss Iyakwari said with joy.
Mrs. Iyakwari, overcome with emotion, shared, “My father never allowed me to attend school, and I struggle to express myself. I thank God for using the directors to support my daughter from primary through tertiary education. God will bless them; words fail me.”
The principal, Mr. Oliver Lazarus Onoja, expressed deep gratitude to NEOTERIC Group, its directors, and staff for their generosity, while offering encouragement to Miss Iyakwari and future beneficiaries.
