DGD MEDICAL DAY AT THE IDP CAMP, ABUJA 2018

DGD Medical Day at the IDP Camp, Abuja 2018

Following our previous donation of relief materials including rice, salt, beans, millet, maize, guinea corn, detergents, Indomie noodles, soap, toothpaste, yams, palm oil, groundnut oil, sanitary pads, and tissue paper—to the IDP camp in the FCT, we observed the profound challenges faced by Internally Displaced Persons. Issues such as insecurity, trauma, inadequate shelter, lack of clean water, education deficits, malnutrition, hunger, and insufficient medical supplies have a devastating impact on Nigerians and hinder development.

Motivated to address these, NEOTERIC Group organized a Medical Day Outreach. Our in-house doctor, Dr. Halima Abdulsalam, educated camp residents on hygiene and medical care, emphasizing practices that promote health and prevent disease through cleanliness. She highlighted that medical care, delivered by trained professionals like doctors and pharmacists, is essential for maintaining or restoring physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

We donated various medications to the camp’s medical personnel, including ORS, anti-malaria drugs (for children and adults), loratadine, Piriton, albendazole, Amoxiclav, amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, paracetamol, cough expectorants, and topical creams. Mr. Abdullahi Aminu, the camp’s PRO, expressed gratitude, stating, “This is your second visit, and each has exceeded expectations. If leaders and industries in the FCT, the seat of power, could emulate your compassion, Nigeria would be a better place.”

We wish to do more, and your donations can help make that possible!
